Who is Ākāśagarbha?

Ākāśagarbha (Sanskrit: Ākāśagarbha, Tibetan: ནམ་མཁའི་སྙིང་པོ, Namkha’i Nyingpo) is the Bodhisattva whose name means “Essence of Space” or “Treasury of the Sky.” He symbolizes the boundless, all-encompassing nature of space, representing infinite compassion, limitless wisdom, and inexhaustible spiritual treasures.

In Buddhist tradition, space is the ultimate container for all things — open, vast, and free from obstruction. Likewise, Ākāśagarbha’s blessings are without boundary, able to reach all beings across the universe.
