Who is Mahasthamaprapta?

Mahasthamaprapta (Sanskrit: महास्थामप्राप्त, Tibetan: ནུས་ཤིང་ཐོབ་པ་, Chinese: 大势至菩萨) is revered in Mahayana Buddhism as the embodiment of great spiritual strength, wisdom, and the power to dispel ignorance.

Together with Amitabha Buddha and Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin), Mahāsthāmaprāpta forms the Three Saints of the Western Pure Land, guiding beings toward enlightenment and rebirth in Amitabha’s Pure Land.
