Who is Wuye?

Wuye, whose full title is "Guangji Dragon King Bodhisattva," is the core protective deity of Mount Wutai — one of China’s Four Great Buddhist Mountains. He is also widely revered among the people as a "god of fortune." Blending the essence of dragon king beliefs, he is affectionately called "Wuye" by believers for his compassionate protection of all beings and his readiness to grant sincere wishes, making him one of the most worshipped deities at Mount Wutai.
